2017 wishes

Best wishes for 2017 - as vapers, we need it yes?

Here is my latest video. I could have written it - but you've heard it all before!

So I said it instead

Friday, 25 November 2016

This is how its done folks - spreading untrue/true lies.

I have been very depressed about the constant untruths spread by the anti-tobacco industry to undermine vaping. I've even stopped reading stuff with ANY negative content. It simply goes on, and on and on. Information about vaping is rolled out that simply isn't TRUE! How can untrue information be spread as if it is the truth?

Make no mistake, vapers' enemies are also the enemies of smokers. The group that have set out to persecute smokers is the anti tobacco industry. What do I mean by the anti tobacco industry? I mean the conglomeration of all charitable/governmental/World Health Organisation's spawns that have set out, with intent, to stamp out smoking world wide by hook of by crook (mostly crook) and profit from it.  And anti tobacco is vicious. If you believe any of them are our friends, you have lost sight of the fact that our whole predicament exists because of their attitude to smokers.

I repeat - vapers' whole predicament exists because of anti tobacco's attitude to smokers.

I might be a vaper, but at heart, I'm a smoker and I havent forgotten the persecution and victimisation I have endured in my life from the anti tobacco industry. And they have spread misinformation and lies about smoking from the very start. Their methods verge on the criminal. The legislations that have stemmed from the anti smoking lobby groups, here in the UK have altered the whole of social society and our economy, and opened the door for young people to experiment, not with smoking, as we did in the old days, but with drugs instead.

So I have wondered to myself, how is untruth spread? Why is it there seems more untruth, than truth in the Press about vaping. Where has the truth gone? Why is untruth predominant? It's almost like a conspiracy happening before my eyes.

Well, the other day, someone posted this link (below) on a forum I belong to. It's not a vaping forum. So this article is not about vaping, but about politics and TRUTH! I found it quite disgusting, ethically and morally. It repulsed me. The writer of this article that repelled me, tells us, proudly, how he faked  reports and information during the recent election in the USA and spread them over social media, to the point that they were mentioned by the media - and even Hilliary Clinton herself. And noticed by Russia. The blow-by-blow account you may read about here -

I’ve Been Making Viral Fake News for the Last Six Months. It’s Way Too Easy to Dupe the Right on the Internet.

This is how people's brains are being infected by irresponsible, immoral groups/single persons/ideology promoters.

And I wouldn't be surprised if the enemy of smokers that is our enemy too, aka the anti tobacco industry, is perfectly able to use these tactics too. So do not believe everything you read on the Internet, or in the Press - there are untrue/true lies out there!

I find my old fire of protest has burnt low, I don't do rousing blogs, or attempt to inspire "the troops" any more.

I've given up.

Theresa May MP: Repeal the TPD regulations concerning E-cigarettes in the UK.

Clive Bates has just published a post

New Nicotine Alliance calls for repeal of EU e-cigarette regulation and snus ban

New Nicotine Alliance proposes that the forthcoming Great Repeal Act is used to repeal pointless, burdensome and restrictive EU regulation of e-cigarettes and to lift the illegal, unethical and anti-scientific ban on snus.  This may be a ‘quick win’ from Brexit at the point of the departure of the UK from the EU.  The government will need to show that there are at least some benefits.
and published his letter to Jeremy Hunt

And I have just signed this petition - please do so too - and share, share, share

I just signed the petition, "Theresa May MP: Repeal the TPD regulations concerning E-cigarettes in the UK."
We are asking Theresa May and the UK Government to repeal the TPD regulations affecting E-Cigarettes and remove them from UK law. Vaping is helping millions quit cigarettes and we should not let policy makers in the EU jeopardise that. Obviously we need some sort of regulation but lets urge the Health Dept. to adopt a policy that helps rather than hinders people's attempts to quit smoking. Following Brexit, the UK has the opportunity to adopt a more sensible approach to vaping regulations and voting for change at the very least will bring this to the attention of those in power.
Please sign even if you think petitions don't work, it only takes a minute to do.
I think this is important. Will you sign it too?
Here's the link:

And when that is done - we need to re-asses the Smoking Bans too. But that's another matter.

The road back to a sane vaping and smoking society

What is the road back to a sane society that accepts vapers and vaping, smokers and smoking?

As an older person - well, old actually, - seventy two in September, I have watched how the world has changed.

I have knowledge that young people don't have. They only think they have it!  But experientially, they know nothing. They only know what they have been told to know.

And young people simply take for granted the absence of things that were, once, BAD things, like Polio, Smallpox, and Tuberculosis for instance. Things that I remember. In this respect, we have been blessed by the work done by science to make life safer for all of us. There has been great progress.

At the beginning of my life the Pharmaceutical Companies were very small - insignificant really, except for Bayer which enriched itself producing the lethal gas Zyklon B for the German Concentration Camps. The labour force for IG Farben was slave labour in factories that it built adjacent to German concentration camps.

Chemists and Pharmacies mixed their own medications for sick people, and doctors knew more about healing than they do nowadays.

"Nevertheless, at the start of the 1930s, most medicines were sold without a prescription and nearly half were compounded locally by pharmacists. In many cases, physicians dispensed medicines directly to patients; companies often supplied physicians with their favorite formulations. While the medical profession was well-established in Europe and America, the pharmaceutical industry was only beginning to develop medicines to treat pain, infectious diseases, heart conditions, and other ailments." Link

There were mixtures and pills that were made by small companies, but none of them had the power, the profitability or the clout that they do now. Except for the aforsaid IG Farben Group, which got rich by getting into bed with the German Government. They were at a great advantage of being able to experiment on the occupants of Concentration Camps. Link

So, the benefit of using experimental evidence became clear to Medicine-in-general and Drug Companies in particular and after World War Two, Pharmaceutical Companies relied heavily on science - especially "double blinded" experiments. Vaccination and anti-biotics had been discovered and new technology helped in medical laboratories. Soon the Medical profession accepted "science based medicine".

And Government legislation entered the scene - The Food and Drugs Administration in the USA and less stringent regulation in Europe setting formal standards for drug testing and manufacture and "distinguished over-the-counter therapies from prescription drugs. This division, in turn, drove further specialization by the pharmaceutical industry into high-profit prescription-only medicines." Link

The Pharmaceutical Industry used some very unsavoury tactics to increase their profits, and designed products for specially profitable groups of people. Most of this was done in secret and their sales were directed at doctors/ medical profession, and their new mates, the Ministry of Health/ Public Health aka Government departments. Illness became big business.

"Whereas it made sense to speak of an American, German, French, or British drug company as recently as a decade ago, mergers and greater cross-national R&D investments have since rendered such delineation largely irrelevant. Between 1985 and 2005, nearly 40 major mergers produced firms of an unprecedented size and scope in the pharmaceutical industry." Link

This is "Big Pharma". Big Pharma, for all it's present and past failings, has made life better.

From the beginning of last century, simultaneously, there was the rise of Big Tobacco. By the time I was born "25 to 35 percent (of women) smoked in the late 1940s and peaked at around 30 to 35 percent in the early 1960s" Link

and most men smoked (75%). People smoked everywhere. Smoking was a most profitable social behaviour for Big Tobacco. And Big Tobacco was profitable for Governments. And profitable for Big Pharma too. Lung cancer was on the rise. Smoking was the cause said Doll and Hill. They got the idea from numerous German studies done for Adolf Hitler, an ex-smoker who hated smoking. And the fact that Allied soldiers were given tobacco/cigarette rations in both World Wars boosted the habit of smoking in men.

In 1962 Royal College of Physicians of London and the 1964 report of the Surgeon General warning the American public of the dangers of smoking made loads of people stop smoking. I remember that. Lots of educated - and not-so-educated people stopped smoking. There was no "Tobacco Control", legislation, or force. But people stopped smoking out of their own logic.

The first World Conference on Smoking and Health was held in New York. The second in London. The new United Nations World Health Organisation that rose out of the ashes of war was finding its feet, became interested in the issue of smoking. These organisations, together with the health departments of different countries, realised that l
ung cancer was depressingly difficult to treat so the Medical Profession was of the opinion that to control its suspected source (tobacco) rather than constantly fail in its treatment would be a good thing. To control the Tobacco Industry, it needed impetus from everyone - all sources interested in health under one roof - the United Nations birthed Tobacco Control. "The WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) is the pre-eminent global tobacco control instrument." Link

At first, it was more about the Tobacco Industry, and less about smokers.

But, recently (in historical terms, and in terms of MY life), there has sprung up a whole industry around Tobacco Control - a self sustaining industry, to improve the conditions of human life that has overridden democracy and sovereignty and had consequences world wide by its costly parasitical  relationship with governments.

In its short life - just over ten years, The Tobacco Control Directive, has deformed into an ugly thing. A thing that intrudes into all aspects of everyone's life - outdoors and indoors, publicly and privately, and, more significantly, into the minds of the people - to infect them deliberately with guilt and fear. To manipulate, not just the Tobacco Industry, but every person who smoked/smokes and every person who didn't/doesn't.

Thus arrived to my world the imposition upon me, not of my own mind or choice, not for my education, not with anything considering the personal "me" but to FORCE me - force me via legislation to stop smoking. Smoking, smokers, were to be erased from history. Eliminated. A sophisticated genocide. Even the press colluded by not publishing anything about the anguish of smokers or the habit of smoking and photo shopped smoking out of press pictures. The BBC now produce movies about the war, or the 1960's that are completely unauthentic because no one smokes in them.  And the erasing of the smoking habit from public knowledge continues ad nauseum - especially hiding it from children.

The world has changed now. It has become anal, divided and prescribed - censored. Young people will not know the difference, but old people - even non smokers - know it, taste it, feel it, fear it.

It harbours all the horrible ideas that we find in Nineteen Eighty Four - the book by George Orwell. It's worth watching this funny old movie Nineteen Eighty Four, to understand a summary of it for those who don't read. (The newest version seems unobtainable on You Tube for UK viewers.)

"And when memory failed and written records were falsified—when that
happened, the claim of the Party to have improved the conditions
of human life had got to be accepted, because there did not exist,
and never again could exist, any standard against which it could
be tested..."
George Orwell, 1984

Human life was far more spontaneous, fulfilled, socially cohesive, less anxious, more creative and could I say happy? before Tobacco Control strove to change us.

The WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control is a template. It's an example of world domination by the few over the many. It is the way we can expect our health to be delivered in the future - by force. It is the way that perfectly legal things, in use by many, can be made unacceptable. And a strange new form of discrimination is evolving before our eyes, that is encouraged by governments, and government bodies against their own citizens. Anything goes - banning, exclusion, abuse. Any treatment is good - taxation, fines, defacement of product.  Any persecution of smokers/vapers is simply accepted by the docile mass because what smokers/vapers "do" is BAD.

So what is the road back to a sane society? Well, for me, the first step was the successful energy- inducing, empowering, heady, Brexit vote in the United Kingdom. We, the people, spoke.

This does not release us from the domination of the EU because the UK is a signatory to the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control.

But it's a start.

I hear rumours that UKIP are requesting a re-assessment of the smoking ban. The smoking ban was adopted by parliament in 2007 on a political ruse by ASH - a UK Tobacco Control spawn. If
a re-assessment of the smoking ban thing is true, I will put my vote behind UKIP. If the present government does not exit the EU to our wishes, the next election could see a huge swing to UKIP, or whatever party it morphs into.

So the way back to a saner society, is to use our voting power. And to demand a reassessment of the smoking ban.

Vapers and smokers need to function together, Those who interfere with Vaping are the very SAME Tobacco Control enforcers abusing smokers. They have come for us too!

The way back to a saner society, is to expose all the collaborators with Tobacco Control, the ones working to implement The Tobacco Control Directive. We need to expose them one by one, as corrupt institutions feeding off governments, for their own benefit. Lobbying always for their own advancement. They are not producing a product like the Pharmaceutical Industry, or (the still) successful Tobacco Industry. They produce nothing but ideas of prohibition by force - the control of a few over the many. They are gross feeders on our economy. We need to speak out. We need to expose the unintended consequences of Tobacco Control foolishness like this in Australia. We need to speak out for the 20% of people who smoke.

“Power is in tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes of your own choosing.”
George Orwell, 1984

Our minds have been torn apart. Society has been made to forget that the real evil is in the subjugation of our minds to an ideology in which any oppressive action against a few people is acceptable - nay - desireable even.

“If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—for ever.”
George Orwell, 1984

We do not need boots stomping on any faces - smokers and vapers need consideration, not boots. Vapers will not get consideration, until smokers have it. It is not the 1960's anymore. We have more knowledge via the Internet than we have ever had before. Even the "lowest classes" know that smoking can be harmful. We have helpful cigarette substitution technology in vaping and we have grown up. We need not rail against Big Pharma, Big Tobacco, Big Food, Big Sugar, or any other Biggies. We need to rail against Healthism by force. And expose new industries, like Tobacco Control especially (because it is the template for others), for what they are - outdated, costly leeches of the most arrogant, obnoxious - and DANGEROUS kind.

My private vaping life

I can hardly bring myself to write this blog any more.

My private vaping life is very happy. But I can hardly think about it in the big picture of the "world out there" without getting distressed.

The "world out there" has gone bonkers!

In the "world out there", I am feeling more and more disappointed and out of step, out of touch, and disillusioned.

The first thing I see is that vaping itself, is running away from me. It's hooked into consumerism.

I've always hated the idea that us humans are taken advantage of by people who promote "the latest version" or "the latest fashion" and all the one-upmanship that humans are silly enough to want.

Every day, there is a new tank, a new box-mod, and a myriad of "new" devices  that are not much different to all the others out there.  I cannot keep up! What do these things offer us? They offer more vapour at higher wattages on different wires, or easier to build atomisers. But basically they are all the same.

I don't buy them!  I stick to the setup that has given me pleasure, however old fashioned it is. Why does our pleasure change - do we think we can get more pleasure if we get the latest stuff? So I'm disappointed that vaping has become a huge operation to part us from our money when what we already have satisfies most of us already.

We are now pushing into new areas of vaping - pushing boundaries. Pushing the boundaries to the habit of vaping, might make US the ones who look bonkers. I don't want that.

And also....

Sub ohming costs!

Not only is it hugely wasteful of e liquid, and battery power so that it is a mug's practice, but if there are going to be any dangers to vapers from vaping, I see possible future problems in inhaling direct-to-lung such huge quatities of vapour that the vaping-antis in "the world out there", can eventually say "We told you so". I don't want that either.

I am really disappointed that the whole idea of substituting smoking with vaping has been so badly received in the world. This is, to my mind, the continuation of the Tobacco Control chicanery, and I have watched how science was used as a weapon against smokers. And again in just as dishonest a fashion against vaping. Every bit of twisted science against vapers, is not actually against us - we already vape - but it is a direct act against smokers, so that they fear vaping, fear smoking, feel guilty for what they do. and it will stop them becoming vapers.

Tobacco Control is an evil industry. It doesn't want a world of vapers. It is feeding off its prey - smokers - just enough to keep smoking going and the Tobacco Industry functioning, so that the Tobacco Control Industry future is assured.

To me, they are far more evil than the Tobacco Industry, which, at least, are honest about their intention to be a profitable industry. They kept me in cigarettes, which I loved, for 50 years. They provided me a great deal of pleasure. On the other hand, Tobacco Control have pretended to have my best interests at heart but they have schemed, planned, purposefully made up stories, ruined great swathes of the economy, twisted people's minds, abused people, and fed off unearned monies - our money - to support themselves. And are still seeking, at all costs, to protect their very profitable industry by peddling fear - charitably of course!

The information that they have churned out about smoking, second hand smoke and now, vaping, makes me not believe a word they say. And no sane person should.

If there was no Tobacco Control Industry, vaping would have been well received in "the world out there".

Recently, I have been playing with my old vaping toys. Some were truly terrible. They are the ones that are "favoured" as smoking quitting aids by you-know-who - Tobacco Control. They did get me off smoking. But they did not keep me off smoking. And that is more important.

The way smokers can STAY off smoking is with the devices that have been developed for our pleasure now. The ones that the evil ones are trying to bury.

I've got old and grumpy, obviously, for I can't be doing with double speak of any kind.

About vaping I don't do words like  "Harm reduction" "Public Health" "Smoke Free" "Vaping Saves Lives" and all the other memes they use in "the world out there".

About vaping, I am very sure. of the words I would use. They are the very same I used when I was a smoker and can be completely interchanged.

I love smoking. Smoking gives me pleasure. My peak moments are celebrated with a cigarette. Smoking helps me think. I love the smell of cigarettes. I couldn't imagine life without smoking. Smoking is the best pleasure of my life.

This became -

I love vaping. Vaping gives me pleasure. My peak moments are celebrated with a vape. Vaping helps me think. I love the smell of vaping. I couldn't imagine life without vaping. Vaping is the best pleasure of my life.

Every smoker should have the chance to say that, and in a world without constant legislative meddling at the behest of the Evil Ones - Tobacco Control - they would have.

SHAME on the Evil Ones - SHAME on you!

Submit your questions to Hon Lik

I got an email from Blu. I point out Blu is a product of the hated Big Tobacco. I find it SO astonishing how any Big Tobacco company making e cigs gets pilloried by vapers saying silly things like "I don't want anything to do with Big Tobacco." and such like, when they were their customers for all their smoking years. I feel no animosity towards them. Promoting vaping is a good thing, however it happens.

I smoked Big Tobacco's Rothmans - and loved them.  It was only when I arrived in England twenty years ago, that I realised that Rothmans in the UK, were terrible compared to a proper cigarette that I used in Africa. This was not the fault of Big Tobacco, but the fault of Tobacco Control screaming for low nicotine cigarettes. In England, my Rothman's were completely non satisfying and they burnt down so quickly, I often smoked two to get any pleasure from them.

A good old fashioned cigarette, without interference, was a very satisfying experience.

"Lite" cigarettes are killing machines - its the SMOKE that harms, not the nicotine. Tobacco Control are still demanding low nicotine cigarettes in the European Union, which shows how daft the whole thing is. They have already re-sculpted society to brainwashed robots that repeat their creed and believe implicitly every guestimate and twististic that they produce.

Their machinations are quite as vile as any Big Tobacco thought up.

So I wrote a blog called Big Tobacco, friend or foe to vapers?  My rating dropped immediately!

Big Tobacco are making e cigs - so they have an unfair advantage over small manufacturers? Yes. Big Tobacco are trying to keep up with the new technology that might threaten their cigarette sales? Yes. Big Tobacco are plotting with Tobacco Control and Big Pharma to stop the growth of vaping to keep selling Tobacco which is profitable to them all. I don't know about that. But Tobacco Control and Big Pharma are definately in cahoots! How evil is that?

So, if you are still reading this! I got a letter from Blu

Hi Liz,
My name is Sean and I work for blu. I am contacting you today with an exciting opportunity for you and your readers.
blu will be holding an exclusive Q&A Session with Hon Lik, the inventor of the technology behind nearly all modern e-cigarettes and vapes. But there's a twist! We at blu reckon the Vaping Community has some burning questions they want to ask Hon Lik, so we're giving you the chance to ask them.
If you would like to submit a question visit the Hon Lik Interview page<>, fill in your details along with your question, and hit submit.
We'll get in touch with anyone whose question is asked, and even if it isn't, we will let you know when the interview is ready so you can share it with your readers.
Questions should be submitted by 14th June.
many thanks
I have a question to Hon Lik. And it is this - "Do you still approve of Tobacco Control, given that they are turning out to be vapers' worst enemies?"

Please feel free to submit your own questions.....

The demon tobacco

I, personally, smoked for fifty years. I am one of the 50% of smokers that managed to escape the harms of the demon. The other group of smokers that can escape the harms of tobacco, are those that stop smoking before the age of 35. Like my husband, for instance.

Strangely, except for my father in-law, I have no experience of people in my orbit, that have developed any debilitating harm from smoking. My father in-law was a heavy drinker and smoker. He suddenly developed pains in his chest at the age of 75, and was admitted to hospital where he was diagnosed with lung cancer. He was dead in a week.

But not before he'd pinched the nurses bottoms and eaten loads of jelly and ice cream. He seemed to snuff it quite quickly, with no struggle for breath, and certainly no long drawn out suffering. But I suspect his lung cancer, being completely untreated from the time it started, had spread everywhere and he fell apart pretty quickly.

I DO know people, old people, who have escaped the harm that smoking does to some people.

But I completely accept that SOME people cannot smoke. It is their destructive demon.

Why can some people smoke and escape debilitating harms, and others are so badly affected? Suggestions are, that some people have a susceptible genetic make-up.

I have always thought of "our family" - I had five children, as being free from the allergy syndrome. Despite growing up in a smoking house, in the days when everyone smoked everywhere, none of them smoke and they seem to be strong and healthy. But our second to last granddaughter, had a terrible time with allergies from six months into her little life. I don't know where that came from - it just genetically appeared! Poor thing has had a dreadful time, and is one of the millions of people who are cursed with extra sensitivity to chemicals in our environment.

The first report put out by The World Health Organisation on Second Hand Smoke, found that children brought up in environments where there was SHS, were less allergy prone and less prone to asthma. And there are suggestions nowadays that too much cleanliness is one of the causes of the rise in allergies, or the greater use of chemicals in every product we use - chemical pollution in our homes.

I don't know the answer, but our daughter has got the situation more under control by huge effort on her part. And without drugs.

So back to the smokers who are felled by the habit of smoking. It is no good believing, like I did, that our family had anti-allergy genes, that if no one in your family has developed debilitating illness, or death,  from smoking, it will not happen to you. Science does not really know what genes you need to not be affected by demon tobacco, or what makes some succumb, while others don't.

Smoking IS like playing Russian Roulette because we cannot tell if there is a bullet in the chamber or not.

Yet smoking is such a pleasurable activity it is very hard to stop. Smoking can be celebratory, comforting, calming or stimulating. People use smoking for all sorts of life improving reasons. It's a life enhancer to smokers. Giving it up can induce grief for something lost. No nicotine patch or gum can give that back to anyone. I know of people who have fallen into depression, and even become ill, after giving up smoking.

It's like the death of a loved one.

As the ideas of the anti-smoking brigade using abuse against smokers, like name calling, segregation, banning and prohibition, moved into MY life, I decided I would fight it. It seems to me that education is the key to all the world's ills. Education is the key. Education ONLY is the key. Smokers armed with knowledge are empowered to make their own minds up about whether they wished to play Russian Roulette or not.  I do not believe that smokers are a mindless bunch of zombies lining up for their nicotine fix. I do not believe that smokers are only poor people, mentally ill, ignorant or uneducated people and so need to be forced to stop the filthy habit that enhances their lives. Or taxed criminally for doing so.

I view Tobacco Control and it's puppet, Public Health, and all their activities as being a truly evil thing. Its propaganda has been offensive to say the least. It has twisted science, bribed science, hidden science, spread untruth and lies and re-sculpted society to it's own ends. It muzzles any discussion on smoking or any protest by smokers. It has made them powerless.

Smokers, except for one or two voices crying in the wilderness, have been completely silenced. Even the media have been got at. It's shameful.

The deepness of Tobacco Control and Public Health's deviousness, has been exposed by the new kid on the block - vaping. How they have manipulated information about vaping and twisted the science has been an eye-opener to many people, who once viewed Tobacco Control and Public Health as truthful and righteous. The scales fall from your eyes as you realise how they have done the same about smoking, with no regard for smokers.

The United Kingdom has to accept the new Tobacco Control Directive constructed by the European Union, but favouring vaping, they might try to mitigate it's impact on vaping. Nothing like that, that I know of is happening in other EU countries. But in the UK, Parliament seems quite content with the Tobacco Control Directive as it stands about smoking and smokers. It really is a disgusting, totalitarian document which is simply accepted as somehow being "good".  It's a truly evil thing in reality.

I wish smokers would rebel! I wish smokers were as activist as us vapers are! But how CAN they be? They have been silenced, muzzled, disembowelled!

Vaping, being "new", has an advantage. We are passionate about it. We meet in large groups, we psyche ourselves up for battle with demon Tobacco Control, that dared to include Article 20 into The Tobacco Control Directive, even though vaping is not smoking.

In other countries vaping has been banned - completely - in the USA, vaping might get worse treatment and be more severely restricted than Article 20 will do to us here in the UK.

Smokers have been silenced through no fault of their own, but by design. That hasn't happened to Vapers yet. We are not throwing smokers under the bus - they have already been thrown there. The righteousness that vapers have got, is that vaping is a REALLY GOOD substitute for smoking. And no one can deny that if people vaped rather than smoked, no one has to play Russian Roulette.

The Global Nicotine Forum - an inconvenient truth

Here is the Programme  being discussed at The Global Nicotine Forum that is happening in Warsaw in June 2016

The only talk that would interest ME is on the last day. "Are vaping advocates throwing smokers under the bus by making alliances with public health? Luc Van Daele (EVUN, Belgium)"

In my cynical way, I would assume that after a whole conference of all sorts of academics and public health employees offering their nuggets to a crowd of like minded people, the answer will be "no".

I note that the whole conference is REALLY about stopping people smoking,

Surely a The Global Nicotine Forum, should have some representative from smokers? A smoker's representative with an armoury of evidence could have much to say about how NICOTINE now has to have a Global Nicotine Forum because nicotine was the ingredient demonised by The Tobacco Control Industry as being THE thing that caused all of a smoker's ills, including their addiction. More or less the whole world repeats the myth, like parrots in a zoo.

So The Global Nicotine Forum is discussing how to get nicotine to the world, without a smoker attached!

The quickest way to use nicotine as a recreational "drug", is to smoke.

Tobacco Control and Public Health did a really poor job of making smoking safer for smokers. Instead of wasting their money on the science of safer smoking, (like using proper natural tobacco for instance or inventing an electronic device) they have used billions to construct a society that believes nicotine causes cancer, that smoker's lungs are black with tar, and that Second Hand Smoke will strike people down at a whiff. And that smokers are disgusting prey that can be hunted down, with taxes, bans, and eventually, extinction.

The Global Nicotine Forum is about ways to hunt and kill smokers. Most - or all - of the speakers are experts in that.

Yesterday I felt really cross that vapers might have "frightened" delegates last year, with "fog banks" of vapour. This is the time we should be really well mannered EVERYWHERE, I felt, because we are being judged.

It's judgement time for vapers.

Smokers have already been judged.

Last year, delegates didn't like "the fog banks" they had to endure, especially in smaller sessions, But, it turns out that reliable witnesses who were AT The Global Nicotine Forum last year, say there was NO "fog bank" last year.

But this year The Global Nicotine Forum is setting rules for vaping.

So, my cynical self, thinks that due to the mind-set of most - if not all - the delegates of the conference, being that of Tobacco Control - the group that intends to extinguish smokers completely, worldwide, by any means possible, it doesn't seem so surprising that vapers are being given tokens of permissions to practise their habit of vaping.

I am sure that vaping is becoming an inconvenient truth.
You are free to vape in the networking and public areas, but please be discreet and considerate.
Use low powered devices as it helps to keep the amount of vapour created to a minimum.
If you want to blow clouds there will be a terrace available on the same floor as the conference takes place, or please go outside the venue."

And us vapers will say "Yes Sir" just like smokers did before us.

I can't help feeling cross about clouding - its sad

Why are people in general so hell-bent on being brainless?

It seems to me, those who push boundaries spoil things for other people.

Take TG - gender alteration. Why do some HAVE to look like Barbie dolls, with massive boobs, pouting lips, wasp waists, or have jaw reconstruction and six pack implants and all the sexual trappings that are only available if you have a lot of money. The outer image, is not what ordinary men and women look like. The outer image is a manufactured fake - an illusion of something that makes gender "choice" look like some cartoon thing that ordinary people cannot easily accept. And ordinary people can't afford. Gender alteration for a real, ordinary person who requires it, gets a bad reputation because of those who have become clowns.

Take drones. Recreational drones are being used by brainless, selfish people to fly in places that makes them dangerous. They are not dangerous unless the people driving them are fools. If everyone flying drones or quad copters did it responsibly, the flurry of new legislation that recreational drone hobbyists are going to have constricting them, wouldn't be required. But it will come because of the fools.

Take vaping. Most vapers exhale very little vapour. Smokers switching to vaping, for instance, are the ones who are particularly cautious about exhaling vapour. Its "surprising" in the beginning. It is satisfying to see it. With more confidence, comes more vapour. But on ordinary devices that ordinary vapours use, the total amount released in a breath is hardly enough to fog up a room. It's the clowns of vaping - the clouders - that are making vaping as absurd as big boobs, wasp waists, collagen six-packs. The outer image, is not how ordinary men and women vape. The outer image of clouding is a manufactured fake - an illusion of something that looks like a cartoon thing that ordinary people cannot easily accept. Clouders are like irresponsible recreational quad copters, flying in dangerous spaces.

I feel really cross with them. THEY are not representative of vapers. They are the ones who could topple vaping, the silly ones, pushing boundaries and messing up the reputation of ordinary vapers, who are using ordinary devices.

Vaper-friendly conference restricts and even prohibits vaping to appease "non-vaping delegates"
 - that some non-vaping delegates last year felt that they were 'trapped' with the vapour, which they found unpleasant and distracting, particularly in the plenary and parallel sessions where there are a lot of people packed into a relatively small space;
- that the Polish government are pushing for indoor usage restrictions - there may be regulators present and we would like them to leave with a positive view of vaping and vapers, and indeed of the conference;
- that since last year the majority of experienced vapers have switched to high powered devices and sub-ohming, which is fine for vape meets but not so good in the conference venue where it tends to create a rather disconcerting fog bank for those who are not used to it.
This year, vaping during the Global Forum on Nicotine in Warsaw next monthis banned because of the "fog bank" of last year. I'd like to know WHO made a "fog bank" last year? It's not funny. It's not necessary. It should never have happened. It's truly sad.

RIP The Golden Age

I am going through what might be called "the long dark night of the soul". The world seems insane to me.

But then, I'm seventy one. I've lived through a Golden Age.

Some things have altered for the better.

Some have become worse.

It seems to me, the more our standard of living has raised in the West, the more disgruntled we have become. The more laws that are passed, the more we demand. The more medical science tells us its findings are "evidence based", the more evidence we expect. The less Religion there is, the more we fall into a victim mentality - society owes us. The more pornography is available, the less we find commitment in relationships. Feminism is bent on destroying men and trashing women, the home, children, gender and God Knows What Else. Governments are struggling to keep pace with the Internet/Media savvy masses who are all victims of something and who cry out for their rights. And everyone is unsure what to believe about anything any more because the strings that pull on the puppets are suddenly visible.

And we are more frightened of death than we have ever been.

I think I lived through a Golden Age and feel really privileged to have done so.

It wasn't wonderful - but somehow, it seemed less restricted - more free - even though in many ways it wasn't.

We had no household car until I was well into my teens. And then it came as the most wonderful luxury! We walked or rode bicycles mostly. And when we got the car, we didn't use it carelessly because we couldn't afford the petrol. Our bathroom and toilet were outside. Only rich people had washing machines - we used the bath to wash our clothes in. My family were very strict about the way girls behaved. My sister and I were not allowed to swear. We could go out with boys if there was a chaperone. So NO sex. We had to be home by midnight. No alcohol. No smoking. We had to behave in a dignified manner - with good manners - at all times.

So that was a repressed upbringing, yes? I can remember feeling bloody angry with the adults in our family, and I could see they were a prudish, silly bunch, but that, as we used to say, is how the mop flopped. Other people had a more pleasant home life. I didn't feel a victim of poverty. There were things we couldn't have - tough shit. And you can't change your family.

My sister and I both became heavy smokers. Yet smoking was really frowned on while we grew up. There was no "anti-smoking" regulation - my friends' families smoked - it's just that MY family thought it was horrible.

I loved it! I really kicked over the traces when I left home. It was the sex, drugs, rock and roll (PROPER rock and roll) era. It was a time of great OPTIMISM. There was going to be peace and love all over the world. Women would be liberated, black people would have equal rights, Gay people would free and slavery would vanish.

Everyone smoked cigarettes. There were no laws regulating where you could, or could not smoke. There were no helmets on bikes, nor seatbelts in cars. Motor racing was a dangerous sport. There was no "consumerism". "health and safety", no "evidence based life-style medicine" to speak of. People got sick through germs, bad luck or God's will.

And the polio vaccine got polio under control.

The pill made having sex safer, since falling pregnant before you got married was frowned on. Unless you were career orientated, women wanted romance with their sex, to be loved, to be cherished by a man, to get married, to have children and a home. There WERE successful women in the man's world, believe it or not.

Consumerism, Health and Safety, Public Health and Life-Style Sciences, are making (have made) us into timid wimps. Where once there was optimism that our society could right the very big wrongs we lived in whatever it cost, we have become entangled in minutiae. Rules and regulations even control our thoughts - and all of us have become victims of fear.

Fear is trummled out to us in great measure. Watch the TV, read the papers, read food wrappers, medicine inserts, cigarettes packs, listen to the adverts. Some of them are completely daft!

It seems to me that people are sicker, more depressed, less contented, more dissatisfied, more fearful, more complaining, more unhappy than ever.

The Anti Smoking Template has been so successful in promoting the fear of death in our modern world, that the same pattern is being used by other groups now, to restrict us in other ways. We really fear death. Sugar, salt, fat, carbohydrates, coffee, alcohol, smoking, loneliness, stress, will remove a few years of our lives. And so, they must be controlled - for our own good. So we can live longer, as old people.

I have never before felt old. But lately, I think I do. I'm tired of all the insane shit I see around me. I am tired of seeing all the strings that pull the puppets making yet more laws and regulations that are binding the new generation coming along behind me in knots they do not even recognise as an intrusion of their freedom. They think they are free. Maybe they think, if they follow the rules, they will live forever.

Whatever freedoms the new generation has now, was because of us. I hope the next generations coming along, will be able to have OPTIMISM in their lives, like we had. But that will only happen when this generation makes Governments stop the insanity of regulating the minutiae of life.

Life is for living, with exuberance - not under the fear of death.

RIP The Golden Age.

Round and round we go

Since I have had my Facebook account blocked, my stats have dropped on my blog. This doesn't really disturb me, as I don't do this blog for stats - though seeing that people are reading it, is comforting. Originally this blog was a way to share my delight in vaping.

I have delighted in vaping. It's been my favourite thing. A pearl. A treasure. A fun hobby. In the beginning I bubbled over with joy about it.

Very soon, as the hobby of vaping grew "mainstream" and more people were doing it, I was appalled that SOME people thought it was bad. The first wisp of astonishment was when my daughter said to me "Our local pub won't "allow" vaping as they say it normalises smoking."

As someone who has endured all the persecution dished out to smokers, to find my pearl classed as something undesirable, triggered all my pain.

This blog became pain-filled.

Then our rulers took on vapers and vaping, and from 2012 onwards we contacted MP's, MEP's, and even Brussels. This blog became a protest blog.

But our community of vapers changed - the invisible delight in vaping for vaping's sake that bound us all together, became two ply. One strand, repeated the dogma and creed of Tobacco Control in their efforts to escape the blows of our masters. They had been brainwashed by their persecutors. One could call it a sort of smoking Stockholm syndrome where the victim forms a bond with their tormentor.

The second strand in the two ply of vapers that became obvious in those days, were those, like me, who believed the problem with the vaping situation, stemmed from the attitude of our masters to smoking. Many of us were older and remembered the days of freedom when smoking was normal.

In actual fact, smoking IS normaL Almost a quarter of all people in the UK smoke. That's millions of people.

So my blog went round and round on the problem of Tobacco Control and it's viciousness. It became viscious when it promoted the idea that second hand smoke from smokers was harming other people IN OPEN SPACES and that smoking should be denormalised. At this point, bells should ring in every sane person's head, that our rulers had lost the plot, and that Tobacco Control was not about health, but about ideology.

So, round and round we go here. The reason vapers are in the shit in Wales, in specified areas, in many countries to a worse degree than the UK - Australia for instance, is TOBACCO CONTROL.

We need to keep free from repeating anything they say when it comes to estimated statistics on the millions of lives, "lost" to smoking, or "saved" by vaping.  They are simply guesses. We really have no idea what deaths are caused by smoking - or by something else. When my husband or I die, our deaths will be recorded as smoking related, even though my husband stopped smoking thirty something years ago. He is down as a passive smoker. So my smoking will have killed him. Yet the effects of Second Hand Smoke are still unproven. The dangers of SHS was adopted by Tobacco Control as an anti smoking meme before ANY actual research had been done. And from there, as a given, all else followed. Why will MY heart attack be smoking related and YOURS, as a never smoker, not be - even though I might live to ninety three, and you die at fifty?

Those, in Tobacco Control, who are our "friends", are still guilty of crimes against the people.  They do not suggest that smokers should be considered in any way - in fact they still hound smokers. What other organisation would be allowed, in this modern age, to be so outright in its persecution of any other group? They have instilled fear, shame, broken families apart and changed our economy for the worse through manipulation and lies. Tobacco Control has become a huge self perpetuating industry - that is still perpetuating itself by all means possible - but always in disregard for smokers.

So, round again to smokers. The treatment of smokers is the origin of our vaping problems. Vaping has been picked up as a method to stop people smoking, but I point out, vaping is a SUBSTITUTE for smoking. Anti smokers hate that, yes? Vaping is enjoyable to us, like smoking was.

The enemy of our friends - smokers - is our enemy too.

And so, round again to Facebook. Our communication has got comical. I asked for them to close my account as I couldn't do it myself, being unable to log on to do it. I then got an email saying THEY couldn't close my account, but if I gave my authentic name, as requested, then I could do it. So again, round and round.  They tell me I can have a page for my "business". But I'm not a business! Nor am I a Tobacco shill. I'm just me.

Facebook now says -
Well, I suppose that's better than the time they labelled my Facebook site as "offensive" because someone had complained about what it was promoting - vaping!

So round and round and round we go - damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Dear Alexander at Facebook.

My Facebook account has been blocked because I use a pseudonym - Vapingpoint.

I have been tweeting them a lot on Twitter to show I am not pleased - wow - I got a letter!

Asking for the same ID shit.

But at least now I have a NAME! Alexander - yes Alexander - a real person. So I have just written to this real person.....

Dear Alexander,

The point of this whole useless conversation is that I HAVE sent you ID showing that I'm KNOWN as Vapingpoint. I sent you photos of my presence on-line. AND an envelope delivered to me by British Mail showing my address as VAPINGPOINT LIZ. Even The Royal Mail knows me as Vapingpoint!

If you cannot see those images which are quite clear photographs - well, I just don't know!

I have PROVED to you that I am Vapingpoint. Any other private evidence is not your legal right to ask for!

If there was any intelligence in your system, you could EASILY check out my online presence and unlock my account rather than wasting your time writing letters to ask me for "proof" that I am Vapingpoint. I AM.

If the Royal Mail delivery envelope isn't good enough for you - the mind boggles.

You are now, completely off the wall in what you request of people. Does it make Facebook less of a haven for nasty terrorists or paedophiles? Well maybe. But when someone gives you such clear evidence that they are NOT a nasty terrorist or a paedophile, and you continue to harrass them for ID, YOU are the ones who have lost the plot!

Do you WANT me on Facebook - I generate a lot of traffic for you - or do you not?

Your call,

Vapingpoint Liz

Our communication might be ongoing.

Facebook has blocked my account - and I'm not co-operating with them to get it back

If you follow me on Facebook, my account has been blocked.

I'm on Google+ and YouTube and Twitter.

But I won't be on Facebook.

The rules on Facebook are that you have to use your authentic name. Well, only my friends know my authentic name. If I used it for my Facebook Vapingpoint account, NO ONE would know who the hell I was!

I will not co-operate with Facebook by providing my authentic name, my mobile phone number, my home phone number, photos of my ID card (if I had one), or any other details.

We have been emailing each other for days now.

I have provided loads of ID images that I'm known as Vapingpoint - and also Vapingpoint Liz and also Vapingpoint Lliz ! But we are at an impasse.

So I'm out.

Stuff Facebook.

I'll have to rely on my followers to post my videos, blogs and things to Facebook instead - I hope you will, will you?

All my mail is still coming through from my account, so I hope I can still see all the wonderful stuff that people are posting... not sure.

So thanks Facebook followers - and there are a LOT! It's been lovely knowing you.

I am still at Vaping for the over sixties on YouTube

Vapingpoint on Twitter

Vapingpoint Liz Google+

Brick walls in the UK

I'm forever hitting my head against a brick wall...

I sent this letter to my MP just before the Christmas break.

Dear xxx,

Thank you so much for your Christmas card.

I am writing to ask you to read this post by Clive Bates about the coming Tobacco Products Directive, especially Article 20 which will short-sightedly completely wreck Vaping as we know it.

This post is packed with information a politician should know.

I am a Vaper - one of THREE MILLION in the UK. I have not had a cigarette for four and a half years.  I have a YouTube channel that promotes vaping rather than smoking. This channel might be banned under the new legislation. This is my latest VIDEO that talks about the "sword of Damocles" that hangs over our heads from April next year.

Article 20 is a travesty of legislation which, by being members of the EU, the UK has to implement. Tobacco Control has over-stepped itself by even including Vaping in the Tobacco Control Directive. We spent the whole of 2013 trying to get some sanity about Vaping in Article 20. Anna Soubry, our Health Minister, actually voted FOR the Tobacco Control Directive without notifying parliament about her intentions, and making the excuse "she didn't know there was anything about vaping in it"! Fortunately she was made Minister of Defence shortly thereafter, and didn't seem to know much about that either!

So, as our MP, and also the leader of the Libdems,it is very important to me to know that you absolutely understand what a terrible set of laws Article 20 is for Vapers and Vaping, and indeed for the UK.

Here is Clive Bates post for today. The Counterfactual

We really do need all politicians to understand what is happening so that this country can avoid the error that the EU has made on our behalf.

I know it is Christmas and you will be busy, but you might have some time for homework!

I wish you a really happy time with your lovely family. You deserve it!

Yours sincerely,

I got a nice reply - here.

Dear Liz

Thank you very much for your recent email with regard to EU Article 20 which puts vaping in jeopardy.

I am grateful for your advice upon this threat and I am pleased to confirm that I have written to the Secretary of State to urge him to provide us with full explanation of the remedial actions that the Government will take to safeguard vaping.  I will write again, when I have received the response.

With best wishes

Yours sincerely

Yesterday, the result of my protest letter came in -

 Dear Liz

Please find attached the response from the Minister for Public Health to the letter that I wrote on your behalf with regard to the implementation of the EU Directive on Tobacco Products.
I do hope that the assurances from the Minister will overcome the criticism of Clive Bates so that the beneficial effects of vaping will not be lost. With best wishes Yours sincerely

And HERE is the letter! Don't hold your breath!

What INFORMATION did you GAIN from reading all this?

Vaping Voodoo

In this blog, I have posted a lot on the Nocebo effect of the continual poison that Tobacco Control has dripped into the ear of society since they started on their mission for a smoke-free world. Their propaganda against smoking and smokers. is positively criminal. Medical porn that has been allowed to be used by our rulers, on advertising, bill boards, and soon, plain packs is evil stuff. Evil. It's the medical hexing of an entire population.

We know, and have known for thousands of years, that if you tell people they are "cursed" they will be. Even if people do not believe in voodoo, spells, magic, witch-doctors and such like, small thoughts of possible "cursing" still remain to haunt them. A hex or a curse is something that triggers A NOCEBO (I will cause harm) in the human brain that has a detrimental effect on health.

Nocebo is real - a REAL thing that we cant avoid, no matter how intelligent we think we are. When it is happening to us, our brains are actually sending destructive hormones into our bodies. We receive Nocebos through pictures, propaganda, the media, rumour, hearsay. And continual repetitive, negative mantras

Nocebo has been known to kill people. So it is not something that can be ethically used by anyone on purpose. Yet smokers have been enduring it since the beginning of Tobacco Control. And the medical profession and governments have simply allowed it. They have allowed it even if it is not true. "Smoking Kills". Well no, it does not. "Smokers have black lungs". Well, no they don't. Only diseased lungs are black whether they belong to a smoker or not.

And so we go on with much medical porn and scientific twististics  drummed into us. There has been a complete blackout of any information on the benefits that smoking brings. And the coup de grace, for smokers, was to blame them for killing others with their second hand smoke.  This has still not been proved, but the curse that it does has been sprinkled over the whole of society. We BELIEVE.

And more importantly everyone, whether smoker, or not, has been hexed.

I believe that, in the main, the media, medicine, public health and governments have turned very negative in outlook in these "scientific" times. "Evidence" allows them to preach fear, fear, fear, blame, blame, blame, turning us all into victims of something-or-other, especially ourselves. If WE turn around and conform to THEIR ideas we might achieve everlasting life (and save government money).  Pleasure, optimism, happiness, joy de vivre is a spice enjoyed better when everlasting life is not our final goal.  Looking after the old is more expensive to a government than repairing people living shorter lives, enjoying the activities of eating, smoking, drinking and feeling happy. Without guilt. Without mortification.

Tobacco Control and the enemies of vaping, are using voodoo big time right now. They are using it against vapers and vaping. It started almost as soon as vaping became popular. Now that a few years have passed, they are managing to make the "dangers" of vaping more precise, more insistent, more like propaganda. Nocebos, in fact. The spells they are casting in almost every country of the world are being re-regurgitated by newspapers, videos, health departments, the medical profession, and many governments who have been infected by the smoke-free dream.

This voodoo is very dangerous to smokers who were thinking of switching to vaping. They might not.

It is very dangerous to us vapers. We might switch to smoking because we fear vaping.

I think I'm reasonably intelligent, someone who might avoid the voodoo. But no matter who you are, none of us can avoid Nocebo. It's just the way our human brain/bodies work.

I have been vaping for four years. I feel good. I am not grieving for cigarettes at all. But as I go into my old age, I want something to comfort me. I am not yearning for everlasting life. I'm not aiming to get old, doddery and feeble either. So I will continue to vape, EVEN if it's bad for me.
